The new build is great! However, it looks like the game is giving up on drawing things if they are too far away. I noticed this in Pipeline and Blizzard.
OS: Arch Linux with kernel 4.13.12
GPU: NVidia 960m with Optimus
CPU: Intel I5-6300HQ
Drivers: Proprietary NVidia drivers 387.34 for the NVidia chip, mesa 17.2.5
RAM: 16GBPlease let me know if there’s any other info I can provide.
November 26, 2017 at 10:23 pm #15472I’m also seeing this on my Windows XP computer. Yes, it actually runs!
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.3 GHz
Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 4670
RAM: 2GB DDR2November 27, 2017 at 3:37 pm #15489Good eye. We’ve been having some issues with our exporting code & occluders in general for a while now. It’s been of a lower priority, but we’re aware of it. The ‘simple fix’ for that would just be to remove it, but that would negatively affect performance (though not too much on CM levels). Getting occluder/’hidden’ geometry under better control is definitely something on the list to work on ;). If nothing else, improving that helps optimize performance a bit (…and would make it look less silly…).
December 9, 2017 at 9:46 am #15564Huh, I hadn’t noticed that. It must be happening though if the devs report it.
Is there a place I should try to see this happen? I am running it on Mint Cinnamon (and other than this occlusion thing that might be happening and the Linux issue of launching files it’s worked super duper).
December 9, 2017 at 10:08 am #15565Have a look at the image in the first post for where it happens in Pipeline. I also saw it in Blizzard at the end of long wind tunnel.
January 15, 2018 at 3:08 pm #15659I saw this issue again last night on Pipeline; I don’t know if you’ve worked on it yet 🙂
January 15, 2018 at 4:00 pm #15662Woops! I was still playing the old build. Disregard for now.
