I’ve been away from the scene for so long. What’s the current state of descent multiplayer? I know Kali used to be a thing but unsure if it still is?
Do most people play on D3 multiplayer now? And if so, how can I join them?March 13, 2016 at 2:51 pm #3202VerranKickstarter BackerTopics: 1
Getting started: http://www.descentchampions.org/new_player.php
If you like 1v1 ladder matches: http://www.descentchampions.org/
If you like group-oriented play: http://www.descentrangers.com/
Many folks are in both DCL and Rangers.
Most games are Descent 1 and 2 these days. Not many Descent 3 (from what I’ve seen). Although I know there are a number of active players who also enjoy D3.
Both groups meet on a Mumble server. Download Mumble here: http://mumble.sourceforge.net/ then connect to server address mumble.descentrangers.com on port 31393.
Hope to see you!March 13, 2016 at 3:32 pm #3210michaelangeloKickstarter BackerTopics: 2
On a side note, I’ve thought about buying and old sidewinder 3D pro. What’s the current word on the availability of a gameport to usb adapter for them?March 13, 2016 at 3:39 pm #3212VerranKickstarter BackerTopics: 1
If you’re technically savvy, you could try building your own using the info on this thread:
Otherwise, you may have to inquire to see if anyone has any for sale, or find someone willing to build you one:
I got lucky and purchased the last two from a guy who made a bunch and sold them a few years back.March 13, 2016 at 3:46 pm #3214SeaWyrmKickstarter BackerTopics: 1
The DCL’s quite active these days.
Just last Friday, there was a livestream event over Twitch where pilots played commentated 1v1 matches to defend their home levels.
It lasted over 6 hours, and there still wasn’t enough time to play all the scheduled matches.
