    password is to separate the servers from each other. if the same password is set for different servers the player selection becomes random.
    however yesterday revival released a new update.
    patchnotes include this:
    LAN games can now play add-on multiplayer levels. The server and all players must all have the level.

    so how do i setup a lan game with a custom mp map. they dont seem to be automatically recognized in the level selection.

    I never played a omega only match
    We only came across the omega in minerva and keg party where its especially with many players easy to sneak up on someone

    The omega was partly homing and if you had a tiny bit of tracking skill it was a nearly granted kill with little counterplay .
    Thats why in the last 10 years whenever i joined a d2 match or hosted one , the omega was disabled or its been good manners not to take it.
    It sure is a unique weapon but one of descents features is that it has a high skillcap and every homing weapon reduces it . Thats why i would love not to see such a weapon in overload

    Is there any chance that backers will get slightly early access to 1.0 under the beta tab

    its been in the kickstarter campaign so its pretty certain that a beta is going to happen

    it also feels weird/bad to play with the joystick
    Even when i turn the deadzone off it feels like there is no reaction ingame when i make little movements or is it just a non linear ramping ?
    if there is a deadzone it would be nice to get the option to turn it off
    if there is a non linear ramping it would be nice to have a option to witch to a linear one
    i tried using https://www.xedocproject.com/joystickcurves.html to set up my own curves but it doesnt seem to work with sidewinder + adapter + playable teaser B24

    the max turn ramping option is a pretty good idea but currently its hard to use as you have normal turning and then suddenly the much faster turning which is like several times the speed you had before

    is it a option to reduce the inertia of the ship while turning ?

    Edit: does anyone else have the problem that when you open the PBT3.24 in steam and exit the game later ,steam keeps saying that its still open

    balance between mouse and joystick is a very important topic but maybe we should wait with discussing it until we are actually able to play our first multiplayer match

    not sure if that even matters at this point but the first cm upgrade still says that it unlocks the thunderbolt

    How about a server which can only accept players who have NOT opened any insane maps?

    opens the can of “smurf” problems where people create accounts and dont unlock insane to be able to join these servers.
    only solution i see is some kind of MMR as in chess .
    A number that tries to reflect your skill and is based on how often and against who you win but that sounds quite a heavy bit of work -> not realistic

    i read somewhere in a steam topic that revival will also release some informations when the game gets released.
    some people already tried to create a overview of damagevalues etc but stopped as these values changed with new patches.

    yeah i might be overstating but thats because i kind of wish that Overload becomes sth like Descent and i fear the possibility that it might turn out as sth that i dont like

    I forgot where but at some point revival said that they will release the full version with two gamemodes.
    Things like minerva will reappear as soon as the level editor gets released.
    And keep in mind that they are a small team and are sth like a battle royale mode is nearly a game on its own.
    It would create pretty heavy challenges such as getting 100 players on 1 server and making that stable or even trying to find 100 players for 1 round.
    the 6dof games always were based on 2-16 players but if we are extremly lucky we get the possibility to create our own game modes by using the level editor and setting up own servers.
    games that let the community create its own content tend to have a long lifespan and iam pretty sure revival is aware of that.
