Chillybus: It’s possible for the Steam leaderboards to be out of sync with the personal best information. For example, if you switch pilots all the local PBs will go to zero. But if you had just one score get reset and the rest were unchanged, that’s pretty weird. Do you have any recollection of when that happened or if there was anything else weird?

Yoshimistsu: When you saw your high score go backwards, were you looking at the leaderboards in the game? It seems that there’s a bug where the wrong data is displayed in the game, so if you see this again it would be helpful to double-check with the values on the web site. Just keep in mind that the web site lags by 5-10 minutes.

If anyone else has seen problems like these please let me know. I could use more information.

    Thanks,

    – Matt

    DarkwingDiva,

I just added this. In Version 0.6 you’ll be able to run with “-runinbackground” to get what you want.

We recently put up a new version (Build 61) that should fix this. Let us know if it doesn’t.

    dues,

So you have an old stick with a gameport connector? And you’re using an adapter to get it to work? If that’s the case then it could be a little tricky.

When you go to the controller remapping screen, what name shows up for the controller? And when you map one of the hat directions (left, right, up, or down) what name shows up?

    Thanks,

    – Matt

    darthkarki,

    I’m sorry you’re having problems. That’s a weird one.

I suggest deleting your pilot files and seeing if that helps. The files (on Windows) are located in

    C:\Users\\AppData\LocalLow\Revival\Overload

In the game, make sure you’re using the default pilot and then delete default.xprefs and default.xconfig. But make a copy of them first so we can look at them if that’s the problem.

If the problem goes away after you delete the files, then please email the old files to me at mtoschlog@revivalprod.com.

    Thanks,

    – Matt

    dues,

What version of the Playable Teaser are you running? The current (2.0) version should support the SideWinder Precision Pro.

Is anyone else out there using this stick on the Early Access version?

    Thanks,

    – Matt

    Yoshimitsu,

Thanks for the information. I’ve fixed the exploit.

And we’ll talk about the flare changes you suggest. I think they’re a good idea.

    defconx,

What do you mean by “a D3 update”? As for the IP, I own the copyright for Descent 3 but Interplay owns the trademark. So it really depends on what you might be doing.

    vrtigo1,

I’m sorry you’re having trouble with the Playable Teaser. Did your issues ever get resolved? You might want to make sure that your graphics drivers are up to date if you haven’t done so already.

If you’re still having trouble please email me directly at mtoschlog@revivalprod.com and we’ll try to figure out what’s going on.

    Thanks,

    canard-coincoin & everyone,

I’m sorry that we haven’t gotten this working yet, but I hope you’ll be pleased that it’s scheduled for the next Early Access delivery. I’ll be adding code to do per-axis centering, dead zone, and min/max.

    Thanks for your support,

    comegetsome,

I’m sorry you’re having trouble. It sounds like your issues are a little different than we’re seeing with other people, but I’d like you to run through a few steps and see if that helps.

    1. Clear out Unity’s registry values for Overload. Run the registry editor (regedit) and go to

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Revival\Overload

and delete all the values. Run the game and see if it works.

If the game still doesn’t work:

    2. Go to the folder

    C:\Users\\AppData\LocalLow\Revival\Overload

and delete all the files there. Try running again.

    If that doesn’t work:

    3. Do both step 1 & 2 and try again.

If none of that works, it would be helpful if you could run the debug version and send me the log file. Here are the steps.

    * In the Steam client, go to Library and find “Overload”. Right-click and choose Properties from the menu.

    * In the Properties dialog, click on the last tab, Betas. In the input box (“Enter beta access code…”) type “debugversion”. Click on Check Code.

    * From the drop-down menu (“Select the beta…”) choose “debug – With debug output”. Click on Close in the lower-right corner. Steam will then download the debug version. Run the game, exit out, and email the log file to mtoschlog@revivalprod.com. To find the log file:

    * In the Steam client, go to Library and find “Overload”. Right-click and choose Properties from the menu.

    * In the Properties dialog, click on the Local Files tab.

    * Click on the Browse Local Files… button.

    * In the File Explorer window, open the Overload_data folder.

    * Grab the file output_log.txt and email it to me.

If I can’t find the problem in the log file, I’ll make a custom build with additional debugging to try to find the problem.

    Thanks for your help,

    – Matt
